Intro to Meditation & Mindfulness

Join the founders of Shady Ape, Shay Bachelet and April Prescott as they introduce you to mindfulness and meditation. Participants will leave with an understanding of what mindfulness is, how meditation plays a part in a mindfulness practice, and basic instruction in meditation. Opportunities for reflection and Q & A will be provided.

At Shady Ape, we do what we do because we are passionate about mindfulness. We are so grateful that our mindfulness practice makes us unshakeable and we want to share that superpower with the world. Mindfulness and meditation are for everyone.

When first embarking on a meditation practice, things can be a bit confusing. How do you know your crystal grid is set up right? Which meditation cushion should you use? What if you can't twist your legs up into lotus position? Shay and April will help you find a meditation practice that fits your needs, no crystals needed.

What do we mean by real talk?

We mean conversation grounded in truth, integrity and honesty. We aren't here to tell you that everything is rainbows and butterflies. Sometimes life sucks, and sometimes we feel like we have been hit by a bus emotionally, physically, and mentally. That's where meditation and mindfulness are game-changers.

We cannot help you from being hit by hypothetical buses, but we can help you be OK with being hit by hypothetical buses.

We're here to let you know that you need nothing except yourself. The beauty of meditation and mindfulness is it's simplicity.
